皇后像廣場原名皇家廣場，於十九世紀末填海後興建，是香港首個市內公共場地。為慶祝維多利亞女皇在位的金禧紀念而鑄造的銅像於1896年在廣場豎立，其後於1957年遷往銅鑼灣維多利亞公園。廣場內現只擺放早年豐銀行總經理昃臣爵士的銅像。

Statue Square was originally named as Royal Square, it was the first public venue built after the reclamation in the late 19th century. A statue of Queen Victoria was erected there in 1896 to commemorate her Golden Jubilee, but relocated to Victoria Park in Causeway Bay since 1957. The only statue now standing in the square is that of Sir Thomas Jackson, the chief manager of the HSBC Limited in its early years.

早期是一個地標性的廣場, 不過目前廣場上只殘下一座紀念銀行家的銅像。後來加建了噴水池、涼亭及綠化，現在看起來比較像是一般民眾休息或溜小孩之用。隨著香港回歸，廣場現時已經沒有任何英國皇室成員的銅像，僅保留了一座紀念銀行家昃臣的銅像。自2003年起，廣場在每年12月均會舉行香港繽紛冬日節，將其布置如北歐芬蘭的聖誕老人鎮，加上全港最高的戶外聖誕樹，成為每年的特色活動。
