位於香港上環荷李活道的文武廟，由文武廟、列聖宮和公所三幢建築物組成，約於1847年至1862年期間落成，是香港殖民地時期，其中一座最早興建的中式廟宇，安靜的位處上環鬧市裡頭，與車水馬龍的商業區，形成強烈的對比。廟內輕煙裊裊，四處吊掛著長燃不熄的大型塔香，代表善信祈求健康、財富和快樂的祝願。當時文武廟不僅是供奉文、武二帝的地方，也是華人議事及仲裁的場所。

The Man Mo Temple is a picturesque tribute to the God of Literature (Man) and the God of War (Mo), both of whom were worshipped by ambitious students looking to succeed in the civil examinations of Imperial China. These involved rigorous systems aimed at finding the best administrative officials for the state.Built in 1847, this remains the largest Man Mo temple in Hong Kong. To pause for a moment’s respite under its giant hanging incense coils makes for a pleasant contrast with the hectic pace of the nearby financial district.

現時，東華三院董事局每年也會按照傳統，於文武廟舉行隆重的秋祭儀式，酬謝文武二帝，同時為本港市民祈福。

Man Mo Temple is part of a complex that also includes the areas Lit Shing Kung and Kung Sor. Lit Shing Kung was created for the worship of all heavenly gods, while Kung Sor, built to the temple’s west, was an important assembly hall where community affairs and disputes were often discussed and settled.

「文帝」和「武帝」

文帝（文昌帝君）手執毛筆，職司文學和官祿；

而武帝（關聖帝君）身穿綠色長袍、手持長劍，代表忠義武略。

除文武二帝外，文武廟還奉祀包公及城隍，廟內又同時置有兩件有逾百年歷史的文物，包括：清朝道光年間（1847年）的銅鐘，以及一台造於1862年的官轎。每年秋天，文武廟都會舉行盛大的秋祭典禮，酬謝文武二帝，並為香港市民祈福。

斬雞頭   燒黃紙

香港開埠初期，法制尚未完善，未有舉手宣誓的法庭程序。當時政府批准華人可依中國傳統「斬雞頭，燒黃紙」的方式進行宣誓，而且指定要在文武廟內舉行。

如何前往

1.於港鐵金鐘站F出口太古廣場外乘26號巴士，至文武廟荷李活道站下車。

2.由港鐵中環站D2出口右轉至戲院里，沿皇后大道中往中環中心方向走，然後搭乘中環至 半山自動扶梯前往。

3.從港鐵上環站A2出口，沿禧利街走至皇后大道中右轉，沿樂古道旁的樓梯街往上走約5分鐘至荷李活道。
